Inspection and Quality Control

Fresh Produce Inspection in Turkey

Inspection of fresh fruit and vegetables at orchards, greenhouses, packhouses and cold stores, using UNECE and EU marketing standards and your own retail specifications.

Overview

Fresh Produce Inspection in practice

Fresh produce leaves no time for disputes. Our inspectors check class, sizing, colour, maturity and defects on the packhouse floor, measure pulp temperature and Brix where required, and stay for loading. Reports reach you before the truck clears the gate, which gives you time to reject, re-sort or re-price.

What we cover

  • Class and minimum requirements per UNECE and EU marketing standards
  • Sizing, uniformity and presentation
  • Colour stage, maturity, Brix, firmness and juice content
  • Defect assessment using OECD interpretive guidance
  • Pulp temperature and pre-cooling checks
  • Packaging, labelling and grower traceability codes
  • Sampling for pesticide residue testing

When buyers use it

  • Every shipment during a new supplier's first season
  • Peak harvest periods when packhouses are under pressure
  • Programmes with tight retailer specifications
  • Products with known residue or phytosanitary issues

What you receive

  • Same-day report with photos and measurements
  • Pulp temperature log
  • Residue sample chain of custody
  • Loading and reefer settings record

How it works

The same disciplined sequence for every assignment, so reports are comparable across suppliers and seasons.

  1. BriefYou send the product, specification, supplier and date. We confirm scope, method and cost in writing.
  2. PlanWe agree the checklist, sampling plan, laboratory and reporting format before the visit.
  3. On siteA food-qualified inspector attends, works independently of the supplier and records evidence.
  4. ReportYou receive a clear report with photographs, usually the same day, and laboratory results when ready.
  5. Follow upWhere needed, we manage corrective actions with the supplier and re-inspect.

Questions about fresh produce inspection

Not covered here? Ask us directly.

Can you inspect at the orchard before harvest?

Yes. Pre-harvest visits are useful for checking crop condition, maturity and spray records, and for planning sampling for residues before the fruit is packed.

Which standard do you use for fresh produce?

The UNECE standard for the product, EU marketing standards where the destination is the EU, and your retail specification where it is stricter. We use OECD explanatory brochures to interpret defects consistently.
